On The Mat Blue Sky Yoga STL

Picture
On my yoga travel to St.Louis, I met with Annie Trachsel, owner of Blue Sky Yoga. With classes offered 7 days a week in their 2200 square foot beautiful open space studio, you will feel a great neighborhood yoga vibe during your practice here.

Annie, why name your studio Blue Sky Yoga?

Blue Sky Yoga started with the idea of creating a space for the community in my neighborhood, that we could all come together to support one another in our quest to be healthy and grow and better ourselves and the world we live in. We all share the same Blue Sky. Blue Sky is symbolic of clarity and light.

What type of yoga do you teach?

I teach hatha yoga. Also, incorporate strength and mobility movements.

How have you found your strength to be creative and stay inspired?

I have found strength through struggle. I wear my heart on my sleeve and allow myself to be vulnerable, It's looking at the little things in life and find beauty and inspiration through them. Acts of Kindness, humble souls and through music. My children bring me so much inspiration to me. I see people that struggle with walking or seeing and I always try to be empathetic to those who have challenges but still get out and do their best.

Where do you see yoga going?

I see yoga growing with a wider acceptance of all forms along the way! There is really not a right or wrong it how you feel in your own skin!

Besides being owner/teacher what something people don't know about you?

I LOVE to meet new people! That may be obvious though LOL! Something they may not know is that I LOVE animals and Indian food and music. Hiking is my favorite thing to do besides yoga. I would be a lost soul without yoga!
